SeeMe 4 starts at 13.00, Thursday, June 4th

The EU Commissioner for Consumer Affairs Meglena Kuneva will open the fourth music conference for South-East Europe - SeeMe

More than 300 specialists from over 25 countries will gather this week in Sofia to discuss the problems and possibilities ahead of the music industry.

The EU Commissioner for Consumer Affairs Mrs Meglena Kuneva will give a successful start to the fourth edition of the music conference for Southeastern European music conference- SeeMe. The theme of her key note speech will be “Music and the consumers- for the need of a new consumer culture in the digital sphere” and the start of the conference is on the 4th of June at 1 pm in the Central Military Club, Sofia. Among the expected guests of the music conference are more than 300 guests from over 25 countries worldwide, who gather to discuss the most hot topics about the state of the music industry and to exchange valuable experience and know-how- these are DJs, producers, club promoters, label managers, professionals from the music industry and numerous fans of dance music.

Among them are also: Scott Cohen – co-founder of "The Orchard" – the biggest digital store in the world, licensing and distributing more than 1.3 million songs and more than 5000 video clips in hundreds of digital stores;

David Riley from Cooking Vinyl – the man responsible for online sales and the promotion of the platinum album of “The Prodigy”

Feidhlim Byrne from Nielsen Music Control – the most renowned global company for monitoring of music airings (airplay). The music TOP 100 of Bulgaria is operational from the summer of 2008 and it reflects the frequency of song airings.

Kiril Zdravkov - KVZ Music – is the largest and leading digital distributor of Bulgarian music on the international market. KVZ sells on the international music market the complete catalogue of recording studios such as BALKANTON, Riva Sound, Stars Records, as well as a number of independent music producers and artists from Bulgaria.

Maria Ilieva’s label “Stereo Room” will take part in the conference panels. The theme is “Master class on vocal techniques. Come and learn the secrets of a beautiful voice!”, along with the American star Barbara Tucker. The master class consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. During the first one Barbara Tucker will reveal useful insights to the participants on vocal techniques and during the second part all will practise and sing together. On the 5th of June at 19:30 in Club Yalta- the official SeeMe Awards ceremony will take place. The winners in the 20 categories will be announced by the hosts Nikolay Bakalov (Gravity Co. vocal) and Tihana Todorovich (Exit festival).

For the fans: Festival night

On the 5th of June after 22:00, the subway of the Central train station in Sofia will be turned into a dance platform for the second time. For one night on 4 scenes, famous DJs from the largest international dance events will perform-– Felix Da Housecat, Don Diablo, Benjamin Bates on the scenes - Main Stage, Dance4Life Stage, Drum & Bass Stage, Live Stage.

The music conference for Southeastern Europe (SeeMe) will take place from the 4th until the 6th of June 2009 in Sofia. During the years, SeeMe established itself as the most important dance music event in the region and transformed into a platform for exchange of ideas, giving the chance to all participants to be in touch with the latest and modern trends in the music industry.

The goal of SeeMe is the establishment of contacts between the professionals in the music industry in the region and through the past editions it opened doors that previously didn’t exist. For a period of three nights and days, Sofia will turn into a hospitable place for DJs, producers, club promoters, label managers, professionals from the music industry and the numerous fans of the dance music.
