The seven-day gathering takes place at Asprovalta Camping in northern Greece, where Free Earth combines a beach setting with three distinct electronic music stages. The 2026 edition, presented under the theme “Shadows of the Lunar Eclipse,” marks the festival’s ninth chapter and continues its deliberately limited-capacity format, with attendance capped at 5,000 tickets.
One of the central developments this year is the return of the Parvati Stage. Curated around the musical world of Parvati Records, the stage comes back after a brief pause with a programme focused on the deeper and more underground side of psychedelic trance. The festival describes the return as a renewed version of a collaboration that has played an important role in Free Earth’s identity over the years.
The confirmed Parvati programme includes Arjuna, Antonymous, Dark Elf, Drury Nevil, Ectogasmics, Egons Embrace, Giuseppe, Hypogeo, Jahbo, Kokobloko, Lurker, Makumba, Rawar, Tromo, Zik and a wider group of artists associated with the label and its surrounding psychedelic network. A Giuseppe versus Arjuna set is also included in the announced lineup.
Free Earth’s main Enlightenment Stage covers a broader spectrum of psytrance, moving from progressive sounds toward full-on and classic psychedelic styles. Juno Reactor will open the stage with a retro DJ set, while the lineup also features 1200 Micrograms represented by Riktam, Ajja, Braincell, Daksinamurti, Deedrah, Earthling, Egorythmia, Freedom Fighters, Fungus Funk, GMS, Grouch, Koxbox, Max Etnica, Rising Dust, Tristan and Transwave among many others.
That mix gives the 2026 edition a pronounced cross-generational character. Projects connected with earlier phases of Goa and psychedelic trance sit alongside producers who have shaped the scene’s progressive, full-on and contemporary underground directions. Rather than concentrating exclusively on current festival headliners, the programme draws on several different periods of psytrance history.
The third musical area, Oxygen Stage, expands the festival beyond conventional psytrance. Its programme moves through psychedelic downtempo, alternative electronic music, dark progressive material and psytechno. Confirmed names include Anoebis, Dekel Downtempo, Grouch in Dub, Kliment, Maiia, MindSphere, Sensient, Sun Project, Xenomorph and others, creating a lower-tempo and more experimental counterpoint to the two principal trance floors.
The stages also open progressively across the first days of the festival. Oxygen begins on the evening of August 24, followed by Parvati on August 25 and the Enlightenment Stage on August 26. This staggered opening allows the event to develop gradually rather than placing all three dancefloors into full operation immediately after the gates open.
Free Earth’s history is closely connected with this multi-stage model. The festival began as a Greek open-air project in 2013 before moving north toward the coast. Its relationship with Parvati Records became particularly significant during the 2016 beach edition, when the event expanded to three stages. Later editions continued developing separate environments for different branches of psychedelic and electronic music.
For 2026, the organisers are also placing renewed emphasis on the wider festival environment. Alongside music, the site includes the AUM Healing Area for workshops and wellness activities, the Agora for art, clothing, crafts and food, dedicated spaces for children and an expanded visual-art programme. More than 250 artists, DJs, visual creators, teachers and other participants are expected across the complete programme.
The lunar theme is more than a visual concept for this edition. Festival organisers have built the 2026 identity around a partial lunar eclipse occurring during the late-August festival week, tying the astronomical event into the latest chapter of Free Earth’s long-running beach gathering.
The festival is maintaining its 5,000-person ceiling rather than pursuing a larger mass-event format. According to the organisers, the restriction is intended to preserve the community atmosphere and manageable dancefloor experience that have become part of Free Earth’s identity as the event has grown.
After the main festival closes on August 30, the programme will continue with After Earth, an official four-day afterparty scheduled for September 3 to 6 on Samothraki Island. The smaller event is limited to 800 tickets and is planned around 65 hours of continuous music, including label showcases from Vantara Vichitra, Forestdelic and Flying Rhino Records.
