HMSU PRESENTS KLASIKA! with ED RUSH&OPTICAL and MC RYME TIME
On May 1st, labour day, one of the long-awaited events in the H.M.S.U. schedule will take place – the second „KLASIKA!“ edition. The series started last year with an unforgettable show, where the legendary Roni Size, Dynamite MC, Bryan Gee performed at Hristo Botev hall. This year the special guests are the classics Ed Rush & Optical and MC Ryme-Tyme – names well-known and appreciated by every follower of the drum and bass culture.
The event will take place in ASKO Denitsa (Mladost 3 district, Filip Avramov Nr. 1), where H.M.S.U.'s tenth birthday was held on January 23rd. For full enjoynment and more comfort, the hall's volume capacity will be increased with another 50%. The emphasis, as always, will be the unyielding sound quality. The sound provided by the professionals from Clear Sound, recognized from the events in 4KM party center has undoubtedly been H.M.S.U.'s trademark.
Ben Settle, widely known as ED RUSH, is among today's leading artists in the sphere of newschool drum and bass music. His unique style is made up of the dark sound, gangsta attitude and heavy basslines. In 1997 he starts working with OPTICAL and the two of them help turn the genre in a techstep / twostep direction. Together they found the label Virus and release a bunch of collab projects, among which the albums "Wormhole" (1998), “Creeps” (2001) and the 12" “Pacman” (2002). The tracks sweep away the charts and bring about a new definition to the term drum and bass. Their innovative style is distinct in the followers “The Original Doctor Shade” (2003), “Out of the Box” (2004) and “Chameleon” (2006). In Sofia the set will be featured by the veteran behind the mic - MC Ryme-Time, who starts off a decade ago with three solo 12" in one year for the eminent Saigon label.
