Nowadays, Fernanda Martins is considered one of the emergent talents of Brazilian Techno scene and, probably, one of the best and well-known debutants of international Techno / Hard Techno scene.
Fernanda has taken part in some of the most important parties and clubs in her country (Brazil), she also has been playing in many countries such as Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Austria, Poland, Ireland, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Croatia, Ukraine and Andorra. This Brazilian lady collects many presentations at some of the biggest and more important clubs, parties and festivals all around the world, for example: Awakenings Festival (NL), Monegros Desert Festival (ES), Defcon.1 Festival (NL), Decibel Outdoor Festival (NL), Apokalyspa Festival (CZ), City Parade (BE), Liberty White (BE), The Qontinent Festival (BE), Elements Festival (BE), Tresor Berlin (DE), Q-Base Festival (DE), Ruhr in Love Festival (DE), Aquasella Festival (ES), Florida135 (ES), Techno-Flash Festival (ES), Montagood Festival (ES), Circus Nation Festival (ES), Vision Music Festival (FR), Fabrik (ES), Industrial Copera (ES), Golden Gate (IT), Inbox Club (SI), Cinema Club (UKR)...
Her amazing mixing skills sum to her big charisma, makes that even expert djs get impressed by her sets. Using cuts, scratches and effects, Fernanda builds accurate, detailed and explosive mixes.
In addition, her ease on stage and the way she communicates with the public are amazing.
Fernanda Martins is specially known for her excellent musical selection. Her sets ara full of energethic music. She is always searching, between new and old sounds, some different textures and items for her sets and tracks.
Either mixing the purest Techno or the hardest Hard Techno/Schranz, she makes clear that she knows how to use the flexibility and versatility that Techno offers her.
Biography and Career
Fernanda Martins was born in 1982 in Medianeira, city of Parana State, Brazil. She felt in love with music in an early age and her life was musically marked by 80’s and 90’s Rock, Pop and New Wave.
The new sounds that were emerging, and consolidating themselves as new music styles, slowly called Fernanda's attention and fed her interest for the innovating sounds of electronic music.
Her first contacts with this style of music were trough researches she did on internet and that leaded her to find and get interested for the work of Djs/Producers such, Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke and Mauro Piccoto. Later on she would became interested for the work of artists such Dave the Drummer, Glenn Wilson, Adam Beyer, among others. Making it clear, from the beginning, the preference that Fernanda had by the most known sub-genre of electronic music, TECHNO.
In 2002, Fernanda moved to Curitiba. There she had her musical taste very much under the influence of the “London Tech”, that was a very strong style on the city’s underground techno scene, witch she became a part of. Her interest for music, and mainly, for the mixing techniques grow up day after day. On April of 2005, Fernanda Martins started to dedicate herself to the art of mixing.
In the beginning, Funk, Groove and Acid Techno were the main styles on her sets. Since the start, Fernanda has been always worried on improving her technique and ability when mixing all the different variations of techno. With dedication and hard work she started to call the attention of the crowd and known djs since her first gigs.
Through the years, Fernanda began to expand the range of the musical possibilities and started to add more and more harder sonorities to her sets. Nowadays, you can hear she playing from the purest techno until the heavier hardtechno sets!
MUSICAL PRODUCTION & AR
In 2008, Fernanda began her investigation on musical production. In 2010 she started audio engineering course which she finished in 2012. During this period she released some of her tracks in important Hard Techno record labels, both digital and vinyl.
Today her main activity related to sales market of electronic music is the management of her record labels AudioCode Records (in association with Dj Lukas), Beat Rehab Records and Pink About It!
