This summer will be characterized by persistent difficulty falling asleep. For the first time in their history, METROPOLIS – the pioneers of the electronic music scene in Bulgaria, organizes a month of open air parties on one of the most beautiful and unspoiled by civilization beaches on the Bulgarian Black sea South coast.
The series of events come together under the name INSOMNIA and will happen on the virgin sands of Perla Beach around the town of Primorsko. This unaffected by the years area used to be owned by the mythical Bulgarian communist leader Todor Jivkov. His personal residence, build on the coast and resembling a white bird, alight on the beach, now will host the names of Nick Warren, John Digweed, Guy J, Sven Vath, Josh Wink and many more.
Every week within a month you will be able to enjoy the music of world class DJs, starting with one half of Way Out West production duo, the globally underground Nick Warren, who will cause a sleep disorder on Friday, July 23rd. The difficulty of staying asleep will continue on Saturday, June 7th, when John Digweed arrives together with the Israeli star Guy J to bedrock the beach. Following is the mental specialist Sven Vath, who’s eagerly anticipated session on Thursday, August 12th, is expected to terminate the early morning waking by forcing its patients not going to bed at all. It’s the first time for the German DJ to play on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast as well. Two days after that, on Saturday, August 14th, METROPOLIS plan to challenge the clubbers with more than 20-hour event, featuring the best local DJs and young talents around the country. Last but not least, the Philadelphia’s finest Josh Wink will be the headliner on INSOMNIA festival closing night on Saturday, August 21st.
