Between June 18th and June 20th the national carrier of quality music awaits you at Park Site Sofia Airport, Terminal 2. There will be playing the fallowing artists: Babyface Clan, Beloslava, Bluba Lu, Gotan Project, Groove Armada, Morcheeba, The Singas Project, DJ Sets, 3D Disco, Adam Freeland, Coldcut Energy Union, DJ Cadik, Goldie, HMSU, Phil Asher.
Half-packed passengers are already posing questions. Here is what we (Park Live Festival) tell them:
What is this park?
It is a lovely one, perfectly fitting an outdoor urban festival like ours. It is the newest park in the city and is located right next to Terminal 2 at Sofia Airport. The place is a natural amphitheater with excellent acoustics and plenty of green grass to dance and roll on. It is spacious, smells like blooming herbs, frogs croak and typha proliferates. One can see the contours of neighboring mountains Vitosha and Stara Planina while airport lights it make it all seem futuristic. There are long walking alleys for leisurely strolls in between the stages and the places for lounging, food and other attractions. Water surrounds the site, yet access to it will be seriously obstructed as we have no life vests, oxygen masks or energy to drag you out.
Why there?
Because it is an awesome location which has never been used as a festival site even though it looks like it was especially made for such events. Because it is wild, beautiful and can accommodate us all from dusk till dawn.
Wouldn’t planes disturb our zen?
No. Our sound systems control outer space.
It’s hella far away. How will I get home?
Kansas is hella farther. There are several ways for cheap and easy getting to and fro Park Site Sofia Airport, Terminal 2. .
First, bus 284 is the party bus transporting throngs of festival-goers literally to the main entrance of the ParkLive festival. The last bus leaves Orlov Most at around 11 pm. The ride takes 15 minutes and costs 1 BGN. The first ride back is at 5:20 am.
Or you can all come critical-mass-style on bikes.
Licensed taxis by Sofia Airport have specific names and logos on the outside of the cars. These are „O’Кей Супертранс” (02/973 2121) and „Такси С Експрес” (02/91280). The unlicensed ones have similar numbers and logos but their meters go as fast as an airplane’s. Make sure you catch the right one so you don’t get unpleasantly surprised by the bill. A ride to downtown should not cost more than 12 BGN.
If there is a responsible driver in your posse who remains cool amidst party rage, you can come by car. We have reserved a parking lot close to Terminal 1 which is free until depleted for those who already have a ticket. After showing your ticket and parking your car, follow the signs to Terminal 2. The walk takes 10 short minutes. Should you wish to park at Terminal 2, you will be charged the standard fee. A stay between 1 and 7 hours it costs 2 BGN for each hour. Seven to twelve hours cost 17 BGN. You may not park right next to the main entrance as this will obstruct traffic. Don’t try to beat the system on this one.
What if I get hungry and thirsty?
You will more than certainly eat if you get hungry. We have planned for an ample supply of food and drinks for your famished bodies. You may not bring sandwiches and jjuice to the festival because it’s rude to eat when others are watching. The guards will not allow such grave injustice and will confiscate your gourmet items.
I kind of dig ParkLive but I’d much rather stay at home and watch the soccer cup.
Don’t do that. Come and we’ll watch it together. Our staff members will also ditch work to take peeks in the TV lounge.
And what if I feel like lying down?
Bring a mat and ear plugs, and you’re all set.
